Q. What is covered during the weekend workshops? Can they be taken more than once?
A. The "Intro" weekend workshops are designed to be the first step into our studio and our classes. They can be taken more than once but it is not required. Young actors learn on-camera basics, how to slate, and build on-camera confidence needed for auditioning.
Q. Do we get a record of the instructors' feedback?
A. You will receive a DVD of your child's work and this will contain their feedback from the workshop. If you have problems playing your DVD you may bring it to the studio to have a VHS tape copy made.
Q. Do they need to bring anything/dress in a specific way?
A. Nope! Please have them dressed comfortably and they will get everything they need, including snacks and juice, when they are here.
Q. Do I need to stay on the premises during the workshop? Do we watch their work while the class is going on?
A. You do not need to stay in the building once your child is signed in, and since part of the training is learning to work on-camera and be comfortable without you, they will be working on their own during the class. However, you can wait in the studio if you need to, and you can see what they've done on their DVD. Please sign them IN and OUT every day that they attend!
Q. What if we have to cancel?
A. We know that sometimes scheduling, family emergencies or illness can make it impossible to attend our workshops. Enrolment does not become final until we receive your child's fee, so please double-check your schedule before you call in or stop by. However, if something does come up, here is our policy regarding refunds or re-enrolment in future workshops:
- Up to a week before the workshop we can provide full refunds OR enrolment in the next available workshop with no additional fees. We can then offer your child's space to another young actor.
- After that, only 50% of their fee [$103.70] will be eligible for refund or transfer. Please note that this is not a penalty: it protects your child's space and keeps class sizes reasonable.
